Mermet entered the solar protection market in 1976. For over 30 years, the Mermet team has developed some of the most technologically advanced solar screen fabrics in the industry. Designed for solar protection, energy savings, pleasing visual aesthetics and acoustical comfort, Mermet fabrics are GREENGUARD® Certified and fire rated to NFPA 701 standards.

SITUATION
Mermet enlisted Function: to develop brand awareness. Despite manufacturing some of the industry’s most high-performance and top quality solar fabrics, Mermet lacked the exposure needed to be a household name. After putting an advertising campaign in motion, Mermet’s goal was to generate brand awareness within the architectural market. That’s when Function: stepped in.

RESULTS
To develop a campaign with stopping power, Function: knew that simply promoting Mermet’s products would not be enough. Instead, the campaign focused on typographical solutions that positioned Mermet as much more than just a fabric maker, but rather a manufactuer with the answers for architects in search of daylighting solutions. The same concepts were visually interwoven to solidify the idea of Mermet as a solution and more than just a company. Function: chose a look that conveys the woven qualities of the fabric, while weaving solutions into the graphic. A simple use of color allows both the brand’s red logo to pop as well as the positioning statement, “Dreamweaver,” that is carried throughout the campaign.
